Celebrate World Orca Day at East Point Park

 

Activities include:

 • Critical Distance. Experience a mixed reality show about J-Pod seen through a headset, at the SIMRES Lab (10+ years old)

• Meet the Artist. Adam May, one of the creators of Critical Distance will be in attendence

• Meet the Researchers. Chat with whale scientists from SFU’s School of Environmental Science 

• Live Music. Relax with local talent 

• Kids’ Crafts. Make your own orca dorsal fin hat in FAB. Parks Canada craft tent 

• Ice Cream. Drop by the SIMRES Lab for ice cream (while supplies last) 

• Whale Artifacts. Stop into FAB for real whale bones and stories 

• Whale Watching. Bring your binoculars and, if we’re lucky, we’ll spot whales.
