#FOR THE WHALES

The Salish Sea’s most iconic and beloved Southern Resident killer whale (SRKW) population is dwindling and experts predict they may go extinct. We launched our #ForTheWhales campaign on Saturna Island on August 17th, 2019 to directly address this dire situation. This event included a lecture by Lauren McWhinnie from the University of Victoria (UVic) and Jackie Hildering (aka The Marine Detective) from the Marine Education Research Society (MERS), along with a series of short videos of our ambassadors at the Saturna Island Community Hall.
