Mushroom walk with mycologist Willoughby Arévalo

During this interactive walk with mycologist Willoughby Arévalo, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about different mushroom species and their ecological importance. The event will be hosted rain or shine.

Date: Tuesday, November 19th, 2024
Time: 2.5 hours starting at 2:00 pm
Location: Meet at the Narvaez Bay parking area
Suggested donation: $15 per adult / $10 per student
toward travel costs and honorarium for the facilitator

Mushroom Felting Workshop with artist Isabelle Kirouac

Learn simple needle felting techniques and make your own needle felted fungi inspired by our local mushroom species! 

Date: Wednesday, November 20th, 2024

Location: Saturna Community Hall

Art Materials: Provided, including local wool from the Campbell Farm

The Art & Fungi Project is a series of artistic projects led by
Willoughby Arévalo and Isabelle Kirouac. These projects provide sensory and playful experiences in relation to fungi and how they shape and connect our world, growing the interconnections between communities, the land, and its more-than-human inhabitants.
